Ingredients

12 whole prawns, butterflied

1 medium onion

1 ounce ginger

4 cloves garlic

20 whole cloves

10 cardamom, seeded

1 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

5 tablespoons bread crumbs, seasoned

Preparation

  1. Remove heads from cloves

  2. Remove seeds from cardamom pods

  3. Combine onion, ginger, garlic, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, and salt in a blender and mix on high until it is a paste

  4. Spread paste in flat pan

  5. Shell, de-vein, butterfly and flatten prawns

  6. Put prawns in pan and cover with paste

  7. Marinade overnight

  8. Mix two eggs in a bowl

  9. Quickly dip prawns in egg, then in bread crumbs

  10. Fry prawns on medium high heat
