Ingredients

1 c half and half or light cream

1 4-oz package sweet baking chocolate (or chocolate chips)

2 t sugar

3 beaten egg yolks

1/2 t vanilla

Preparation

Combine cream, chocolate, and sugar in saucepan. Cooking, stirring, over medium heat 10 minutes or until liquid boils and thickens.

Gradually stir half of hot mixture into eggs; then stir eggs back into other half of chocolate mixture in pan.

Cook, stirring, over low heat; 2 minutes; remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

Pour into 4 to 6 serving cups or bowls; chill covered for 2 to 24 hours.
