Ingredients

2 cups flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup oil

1/2 cup poppy seeds

1 cup water

1 tbsp lemon juice (opt)

7 eggs, seperated

1/2 cream of tartar

Preparation

Combine flour, BP, BS, sugar, and salt. Form a well, and add oil, 7 egg yolks, poppy seeds, water, and lemon juice (opt). Beat till smooth. In another clean bowl, beat 7 egg whites till stiff with 1/2 tsp cream of tartar. Fold gently, flour mix with egg white mixture,till thoroughly blended. Bake in ungreased angel food pan. 50 min 350 F, and turn oven to 300 F for another 15 minutes till toothpick comes out clean. . Invert pan on bottle to cool.
