Ingredients
1 pk yeast
1 T sugar
1 c water
3 c flour
1 t salt
1/4 c olive oil
*a little garlic powder and italian seasoning
(suggested for toppings)
pesto
mozzarella cheese
tomatoes
garlic
bell peppers
onion
precooked southwestern chicken
Preparation
mix water, yeast and sugar. Let sit 15 min.
mix flour and salt in large bowl. *add a pinch of garlic powder and italian seasoning to make the crust taste like focaccia bread. a little extra olive oil helps this too. it’s very yummy!
add olive oil to yeast mix
mix yeast solution into flour
cover with a cloth, and put in a warm place to rise (1 hour if possible)
Spread your dough out on an oiled cookie sheet or pizza stone, add sauce, cheese and toppings and cook at about 500 for around 10 minutes, until the crust is crispy
*for anyone who REALLY loves spicy food (or for men looking to prove their manly-ness, ugh), try this very spicy take on this recipe:
mix cayenne powder with alfredo sauce, spread on dough, then put lots of different peppers (slice VERY thinly if you use habaneros) and spicy italian sausage on top of the sauce, then cover with mozzarella chesee. (putting the toppings between the sauce and cheese helps them retain the flavor, but makes the pizza more cohesive, instead of just burning the roof of your mouth). adding some cayenne to the crust doesn’t hurt either.
