Ingredients
2 cups DRY PINTO BEANS
8 cups WATER
2 tablespoons PINTO BEAN SEASONING
2 teaspoons VEGETABLE OIL
Pinto Bean Seasoning
10 Tablespoons SALT
2 Tablespoons SUGAR
4 Tablespoons ONION POWDER
4 Tablespoons GARLIC POWDER
2 Tablespoons POWDERED CUMIN
2 Tablespoons GROUND BLACK PEPPER
1 Tablespoon POWDERED MEXICAN OREGANO
1 Tablespoon POWDERED ANCHO CHILI PEPPER
Preparation
Spread beans out over a flat surface and inspect carefully and remove anything that is not a bean. Place beans in a 4 quart pot (or larger) and wash with water, agitating with hand and then draining. Repeat this step until the water drains clear (about three times). Add water and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for two hours. Add Pinto Bean Seasoning and oil and then simmer for 30 minutes longer.
