Ingredients

6 tablespoons chilled butter (cut into small pieces)

2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 tablespoons vegetable oil or cristco

1/4 cup cold water

Preparation

  1. Put flour, salt, butter and vegetable oil/shortening into the food processor and process until the mixture is the size of peas.

  2. Scrape down the bowl. Continue to process, adding water until dough forms a ball.

  3. Divide dought into discs, wrap in plastic, and chill for at least 20 minutes. Dough can be made a day ahead but should be softened at room temperature until workable before rolling.
