Ingredients

½ cup fresh parsley, snipped and loosely packed

½ cup fresh basil, snipped and loosely packed

1 T extra-virgin olive oil

1 T balsamic or malt vinegar

2 T grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp sugar

2 T chicken broth, more if a thinner sauce is desired

1 clove garlic, minced

3 T finely chopped walnuts

freshly ground pepper to taste

Preparation

Combine and process all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Use on pastas, brush on grilled chicken or fish, dab on sun-warmed tomatoes, or stir into a cool bowl of fresh tomato soup.
