Ingredients

2 cups flour

pinch of salt

3 tbls sugar

1 stick of butter

1/4 cup solid veg. shortening

1 egg(beaten)

ice water

1/2 tsp vinegar

Preparation

To make a double pie crust in a food processor, put into the workbowl fitted with a steel blade dry ingredients. Pulse once to sift. Add butter and shortening. Pulse a dozen times until mixture resembles crumbs.

Wisk egg in a class cup. add enough water to make 1/2 cup. Add vinegar.

Sprinkle most of the liquid onto the flour. Pulse until it forms clumps. Add liquid as necessary and more ice water if necessary. Remove clumps to a flouered surface and cut through with a knife to form a ball. Divide in half and refrigerate for 20 minutes before rolling out.

Use to make a 9 inch pie.
