Ingredients

PIE CRUST

2 cups of sifted all purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

2/3 cups shortening

8 tablespoons cold water

FILLING

7 tart apples (granny smith) peel and slice thin

1 cup of sugar

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

dash of nutmeg

dash of salt

2 tablespoons of butter

Preparation

FOR PIE CRUST sift flour and salt together with a pastry blender mix flour and shortening together till it appears pea-sized mix in the cold water divide dough in half roll out and put in pie pan

FOR PIE FILLING mix all ingredients together until well destributed throughout the apples fill the pastry with pie filling and dot with butter and add top crust pinch all around pie crust bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes
