1/2 box pene
about 1/2lb
1Tbsp olive oil
1Tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic minced
1 lg shallot cut into strips
1 red bell pepper cut into strips
1lb asparagus cut into 1 inch pieces
1lb med shrimp peeled
1/2 cup white wine
like a sauvignon blanc
4 slices procuitto
1Tbsp parsley chopped
1Tbsp basil chopped juice of 1/2 a lemmon
salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
put pot of water on to boil. while water is heating up you can prepare the ingredients. add pene to boiling salted water, stir. in a large frying pan set on med/high heat melt butter with the olive oil. add garlic,shallots, red pepper and a pinch of salt, saute until softened. add asparagus, saute until tender but slightly crisp, about 8-10 min. add shrimp, wine, procuitto, parsley and basil raise heat to high saute until shrimp turn pink. add lemon juice and remove from heat. drain pasta and pour into pan with sauce toss together add salt and pepper to taste heat at med/high for a min. or two, and serve with parm cheese sprinkled on top with some crusty bread and a green salad.
