Ingredients
Shortbread:
3/4 cup cold butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
Pecan Filling:
2 cups chopped pecans
1/2 cup softened butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup honey
2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
Preparation
Heat oven to 350 o . In the food processor, combine the 3 short bread ingredients until crumble. Press the mixture, with a spoon, in a 13 x 9 x 2 inches, greased baking pan. Make sure the sortbread is sread to yhe sides and yhe corners of the pan. Bake until light brown (15-20 minutes). Cool.
Heat oven to 350 o. In a heavy saucepan, melt the butter. Add sugar, honey and cream. Mix. Heat, stirring constantyly for two or three minutes. Add the pecans and mix. Spread over the baked shortbread and bake until bubbling occurs (20 minutes). Cool completely before cutting with a sharp knife.
