Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

1 t baking powder

1 cup sugar

1/8 t nutmeg

2 eggs

1/4 cup yogurt or buttermilk

2 cups flour

1 cup coarsely-chopped, cored pears

1/2 t salt

1 t vanilla

1/2 t baking soda

Preparation

Cream butter, gradually beat in sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Combine dry ingredients; add to egg mixture alternately with yogurt. Stir in pears and vanilla. Pour into buttered 9"x5"x3" loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
